80-year-old drowns in pond | News

PLANT CITY, Florida -- The body of 80-year-old man was found Saturday morning in a pond near the RV park where he lived, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies say they received a call around midnight from a park resident who said they'd heard what they thought was someone yelling for help around 9:30 p.m. Deputies searched the park, including the pond, for 30 minutes, but say they did not find anything.

Joseph Ross' body was then found the following morning. He suffered from dementia, according to his family. Deputies say it appears he wandered into the pond and drowned.
