10 News weekend anchor serves as Parade Marshall | News

PLANT CITY, Fla. -- The celebration of Black heritage continues this weekend in Plant City. On Saturday, several bands wowed the crowds along E. Dr. Martin Luther King Boulevard as part of  The Black Heritage Educational and Cultural Festival.

Families stood along the street waving to those taking part in the parade.

10 News weekend anchor Tammie Fields was honored to serve as the parade's Grand Marshall. She rode in a new Camaro courtesy of Stingray Chevrolet. Wayne Beach from the dealership kept her company and drove the sports car.

On Sunday, there will be a gospel concert at 3 p.m. at 1601 E. Dr. Martin Luther King Blvd. in Plant City. There will be plenty of family fun from 1 p.m. until 10 p.m. There will be midway carnival rides and plenty of food vendors set up in the area.

The USF Gospel Choir, Durant High School, Voices of Inspiration Choir, and Tampa Boyz are all scheduled to perform.

Friday evening Representative Darryl Rouson spoke at a banquet held at Hillsborough Community College Trinkle Center.
