Plant City, Florida-- Do you want free Disney Tickets? Then join the Plant City Community Choir as they prepare to sing at Disney World!

According to the Plant City Community Choir group on Facebook, a minimal time commitment is required of members. 

All are encouraged to take part in the group audition, whether your pipes are rusty, or you have never sang in a choir at all!

Residents can apply for Citizen Boards and Councils

 

Hillsborough County, Florida-- Hillsborough County Commissioners are seeking residents to serve on several County citizen advisory boards and councils.

Residents interested in seeking appointment must be registered voters in Hillsborough County.

These are voluntary positions, and members serve without compensation. Applicants may apply to more than one board, but may only serve on one board at a time.

The deadline for applying is June 14, 2012. Appointments will be scheduled for a meeting of the Board of County Commissioners in July 2012.

Turkey Creek Middle includes HCSO and MacDill soldiers in Olympic Day

Plant City, Florida-- Hillsborough County Schools announces Turkey Creek Middle School's annual Olympic Day to take place Wednesday, May 23 from 9:15 a.m. - 11:20 a.m., and 2:15 p.m. - 4:15 p.m. 

Opening ceremonies begin at 9:15 a.m. and, according to SDHC, will include the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, MacDill Air Force Base soldiers, and Turkey Creek athletes.    

Following the afternoon session will be a teacher's pentathlon and closing ceremonies.  

Turkey Creek Middle School is located 5005 S. Turkey Creek Rd., Plant City.

Hillsborough School Sports Awards Ceremony moved

Tampa, Florida -- There is a change in the The Hillsborough County Public Schools spring sports awards.

The awards have been moved from Thursday, May 24, at 10 a.m. to Wednesday, May 23, at 10 a.m., in the school board auditorium at 901 E. Kennedy Blvd., Tampa.

Team GPA and individual sport awards will be presented for baseball (GPA only), softball, track and field, tennis, and flag football. The Vernon Kohrn Award for total athletic program also will be awarded.
